Does the fabric wrap make the holster stronger?

Yes!

The fabric wrap is not just decorative. The fabric wrap strengthens the thermoplastic by turning it into a composite.

Thermoplastics have been known to crack in some situations. The fabric wrap reduces this potential issue by absorbing any initial shock from impact, and by distributing the impact over a larger area.

Layering two or more materials to make a composite, to strengthen the base material, is not a super secret manufacturing technology that only KT knows about. This is a well and heavily studied subject in the material engineering field.

The physical combination of two or more materials with different grain patterns makes the base more durable. The layering strengthens the base material by interrupting the paths of cracks, redistributing physical stress across multiple boundaries, while maintaining the base material’s flexibility and rigidity.
